Back-Peddling Complete: Jennifer Lawrence Says She Wants to Return as Mystique For More X-MEN Movies

Something has changed with actor Jennifer Lawrence's opinion on return for more X-Men movies beyond this summer's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Maybe it's youthful indecisiveness, or questionable advice from her reps/agents, perhaps Apocalypse threatening her to return by choking her, or maybe she just had a legit change of heart.

First, let's get you caught up with this ongoing story.

Back in March 2015, Lawrence told MTV she was done with the role of Mystique in Fox's X-Men movie universe after X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.

“It is my last one, actually.”

Then, in July 2015, she began to change her tune and told Yahoo! should be listen to X-Men producers if they wanted her to return to the role.

“I want them to ask me, and then I’m just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I’ll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I’m going to throw up, I’ll say no. And if I don’t, I’ll ask how much they want to pay me.”

Now, Lawrence has gone a full 180-degrees within the past 12 months and told Empire she would love to return and is dying to come back for more X-Men movies.

“I am dying to come back. I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it’s not on anyone’s shoulders."

Take this as you will but something happened over the last 12 months for her to completely turnaround on her decision to return and the blue, shapeshifting mutant. While this information may never be revealed, at least it's good that she would return if a future X-Men movie script called for more Mystique.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE releases on May 27.
