JUSTICE LEAGUE: Director Zack Snyder Talks Influence and Who Assembles the Heroic Team

***This post contains spoilers for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN. You've been warned.***
BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is finally out in theaters and while there's lots of negative reviews from the critics, fans are actually ignoring them and the majority of them are still going out to see the movie to judge it for themselves.

But the focus is quickly moving to director Zack Snyder's next big epic DC Films movie, JUSTICE LEAGUE. Filming starts next month in London and Snyder spoke to Yahoo! about which hero is behind the assembling of the team members and which of Snyder's favorite movies will have some influence on the ensemble movie.

“I’m getting ready to start ‘Justice League’ on the 11th of April, so in like two weeks we start shooting... and it’s an intense, awesome, and gigantic undertaking because Bruce [Wayne] is having to go out and sort of ‘Seven Samurai’ the Justice League together, which is fun.”

Notice how Snyder added the word 'fun' at the end of his comment. This is probably a subtle shot he's taking at all the reviewers who say BATMAN V. SUPERMAN isn't fun enough.

At the end of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN it is more than obvious that Batman will be the one who seeks out all the other meta-humans, perhaps with some help from Wonder Woman.

This isn't the first time Snyder has shared his love for Seven Samurai has he has previously stated that he would have loved to helm a Star Wars spin-off movie featuring Jedi in a Seven Samurai-influence movie, back in 2013. This never panned out as Lucasfilm has not hinted at or announced such a spin-off and Snyder is knee-deep into pre-production for JUSTICE LEAGUE anyway. Maybe further down the road, but that is unknown.

JUSTICE LEAGUE releases on November 17, 2017.
