"Right now the working title is Justice League. Actually, I’m in that phase where I’ve been drawing logos and I’ve been drawing title treatments and stuff like that to try and figure out what it means, what Justice League is, visually, so we’ll see if the name evolves with this visual presentation."
Initially revealed as being JUSTICE LEAGUE PART 1 in the official Warner Bros. press release announcement, the movie has been referred to as simply JUSTICE LEAGUE because it is the first movie and the 'Part 1' bit is very redundant. Apparently, according to Snyder's comment, the plan has been to give JUSTICE LEAGUE a subtitle all along.
But why? What is Snyder's obsession with subtitles for these movies?
Over on the website BirthMoviesDeath, they have poked fun at the lengthy BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE title in nearly every post they put up on their site. Rightfully so because, again, the simple title of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN would have been more than enough for the fan base and it could have still set-up JUSTICE LEAGUE without the tease that it was going to do it.
There's never been a Justice League movie before and the unnecessary need to give it a subtitle seems overly excessive. Just call it JUSTICE LEAGUE. It sounds great and gets straight to the point without having to read some long subtitle tease as to what the movie is about, or leading to next.
Save a subtitle addition for JUSTICE LEAGUE PART 2, please.
JUSTICE LEAGUE begins filming in April in London and releases on November 17, 2017.
