Release Date Conundrum: Marvel's INHUMANS to Probably Get a New Date Since INDIANA JONES 5 Releases the Week After

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm it was obvious they wanted to acquire the Star Wars franchise. But Lucasfilm also owned the Indiana Jones franchise and it has been widely regarded that Disney would bring back Dr. Jones, eventually.

Now that Disney has relaunched the Star Wars franchise to the tune of over $2 billion in worldwide box office sales with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, it's time to begin focusing on INDIANA JONES 5 as it is officially coming on July 19. 2019.

But Disney's other powerhouse studio, Marvel Studios, has their own July 2019 release date set for the INHUMANS movie, July 12, which is set to release the week before INDIANA JONES 5 comes out.

This could be seen as a big red flag for the current release date of Marvel's INHUMANS because the much more well-known Indy franchise will easily drain any and all box office momentum INHUMANS could have during its opening weekend. What this means is that Marvel Studios is now expected to announced a different release date for INHUMANS since there is no chance Disney would pit two of its own studio released against each other within a week of release.

Look for INHUMANS to most likely be pushed back to an early November 2019 release at some point in the near future by Marvel Studios.
