SPIDER-MAN First Appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is Reminiscent of Amazing Fantasy #15 and Alex Ross Art
The new trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is here and at the end is the reveal of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! This will be the second attempt at a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise after Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy and the last two Amazing Spider-Man movies. However, this is the first time Spider-Man is appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Sony Pictures partnered up with Marvel Studios to make this possible last year.
After several different variations of Spidey's suit in the last five movies, this new one clearly shows that Marvel Studios has adapted the first appearance look of Spider-Man from 1962's Amazing Fantasy No. 15.
Also, there's a hint of artist Alex Ross' version of Spidey, too.
He's got a smaller spider logo on his chest, as well as what appears to be webbing cartridges at his waist.
He's got the stubby-legged spider logo on his back.
The only thing he is missing from Spidey's first comic book appearance are his underarm webbing, but that could always show itself at some point too. Below is a look at a hi-res version of Spider-Man and you can either right-click the image below to see all the details or just click right here to see it in hi-res.
Of course some liberties were made with the blue lines on his arms and calves but overall this is a great, iconic Spider-Man look. Plus don't forget if you don't like this look Marvel Studios likes to update and change hero costumes in each movie a hero appears in, so this look could/should/will change a bit when the untitled SPIDER-MAN movie releases in summer 2017.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR releases on May 6.
