BATMAN V. SUPERMAN is Estimating a 65% Drop in its 2nd Weekend and Should be in $60 Million Range

Whenever there is a huge opening weekend, there usually follows a big second weekend drop-off. This is expected for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in its second weekend of release. BATMAN V. SUPERMAN is looking at an estimated haul between $58-$65 million. [Please note this is for domestic weekend projections only.]

This would make it an estimated 65-percent (-ish) drop for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN. Comparatively speaking, THE DARK KNIGHT had a 52-percent drop in its second weekend, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES had a 61-percent drop and MAN OF STEEL dropped 64-percent.

A 65-percent (-ish) drop for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN isn't a bad thing and nothing to get all bent out of shape over because this is the way box office analytics usually work out. Even 2016's big hit DEADPOOL dropped 57-percent in its second frame. But as DEADPOOL proved in February with it's ridiculously huge debut, and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN proved last weekend bringing in $166M against tons of negative reviews, anything is possible when it comes to weekend box office results.
