Dark Phoenix Saga Could be Coming After X-MEN: APOCALYPSE But You Probably Already Assumed This

Let's be honest here... this is less of a rumor and more a product of common sense as a rumor is circulating the web, via the YouTube channel POPBOOM, claiming the next movie after X-MEN: APOCALYPSE might be an adaptation of the Marvel comic book storyline The Dark Phoenix Saga.

To make matters worse about this so-called rumor is that director Bryan Singer already hinted this could be coming in a post last week when he spoke about Jean Grey with Entertainment Weekly.

"And Jean she has not only has her telekenisis and her telepathy but she also knows inherently that something darker and more powerful is growing inside her and she doesn’t quite know what it is.”

This quote is clearly a tease the Dark Phoenix is being hinted at and coming soon (and again) to the X-Men movie universe timeline. Any X-Men comic book reader and even the more casual fan knew things could be heading in this direction when it was announced that Jean Grey (played by actor Sophie Turner) was being rebooted as a younger character in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

This all makes this the non-story story of the day. And we might as well take it to another level and start using the tentative title X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX SAGA, too. And yeah, that's just a guess and not a scoop or story either.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE releases on May 27.
