Last month rumor hit claiming Warner Bros. was already considering SUICIDE SQUAD 2. Not much longer after that, SUICIDE SQUAD went into three weeks of reshoots to add more action and possibly a little bit more of Batman.
While talking with MTV, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, director David Ayer expressed interest in coming back for an R-rated SUICIDE SQUAD sequel.
"It would be worth lobbying for."
The director continued to talk about why he would be more interested in an R-rated sequel instead of just making this summer's SUICIDE SQUAD an R-rated movie.
“For an R movie, you have to decide to do it right out the gate, and that was never the case here. We were always going to hit the PG-13 rating. But the film is meant to be that. It’s got edge, and it’s got attitude. And it’s got its own voice… There’s a lot in the film that’s going to surprise people.”
Even though SUICIDE SQUAD isn't out in theaters until August 5, it seems like there is interest in a sequel by Ayer and perhaps by Warner Bros., too.
