Whenever there is a conversation about watching movies in 3D it usually ends with some form of agreement that most animated films are a must-see in 3D but only some live action movies should be seen in the format.
But it doesn't sound like this is the case with DOCTOR STRANGE when studios head Kevin Feige spoke with Collider about the use of 3D in the movie.
"We were in VFX reviews the other day, one of the first ones for [DOCTOR STRANGE]. We just wrapped, we finished in New York… we did one of the first reviews and it was pretty exciting. It was pretty cool in terms of how 3D can serve that story.
"You know, sometimes 3D is a tool, like it is in Civil War, a tool of another toy in the sandbox of how the Russos (Joe and Anthony) can present this movie, then there are times like what Disney is putting out with The Jungle Book. It’s certainly gonna be the case with Doctor Strange that it serves the storytelling, that it advances the storytelling. And hopefully it helps bend people’s minds even more than with just the flat screen."
If there was to be a Marvel movie to fully utilize 3D technology, it makes sense for it to be in DOCTOR STRANGE due to all its psychedelic visuals that made its comic books so unique and surely will be in the movie too. And with Feige saying how the film might "bend people's minds" pretty much makes it must-see in 3D.
DOCTOR STRANGE releases on November 4.
