It's officially official as 20th Century Fox has confirmed they are making DEADPOOL 2. The announcement was made official during Fox's CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas this morning.
Also announced are the return of the creative team consisting of actor Ryan Reynolds as the Merc With a Mouth, of course, as well as director Tim Miller along with screenwriters Rheet Reese and Paul Wernick.
No release date was announced but DEADPOOL 2 will have, as Deadpool himself told everyone during the post-credits scene of DEADPOOL, Cable will be joining the sequel too. Although Fox did not confirm the inclusion of Cable in their sequel announcement.
Fox has open release dates for untitled Marvel movies on October 6, 2017, January 12, 2018 and on July 13, 2018. DEADPOOL 2 could land any of these three open dates and it remains to be seen if the movie will fast-track for the October 6 date next fall or if it'll stick to a winter release on January 12, 2018.
