WONDER WOMAN is one of the parts of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN that has been applauded across the fan base and with the most critical of critics. Yet this highly anticipated movie doesn't seem to be following a lighter the path, yet, as Gal Gadot spoke with DigitalSpy and spoke about the film's coming-of-age story for Diana Prince.
"We go back 100 years to when she's more naïve.
"She's this young idealist. She's pure. Very different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman you've seen."
The actor, then, teased its humor and darker tone.
"In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It's very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it's pretty dark."
WONDER WOMAN started filming months before the fallout after the release of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN. So while Gadot says there are "moments of humor" in it, the movie is too close to completion to really add more perceived humor and fun into it right now in its production schedule. But Warner Bros., DC Films and director Patty Jenkins can possibly add more fun, funny and lighter elements (if needed) during its reshoots down the road. Just as SUICIDE SQUAD is (allegedly) doing with its three weeks of reshoots right now, which is just about four months before the movie releases in August.
WONDER WOMAN releases on June 2, 2017 and there is plenty of time for any additions to the film in its future reshoots. If needed, of course.
