Negative Pile-On Continues as DC Extended Universe is Rumored to Have Creative Problems Behind Closed Doors
For any fan it seems to be getting harder to stay positive about Warner Bros. and DC Film's super hero movie universe when there's so much negativity surrounding it. First, stemming from the negative review of MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and now from yesterday's report that Warner Bros. lost their director of THE FLASH. The negativity online seems to only get worse and the struggle is becoming more real to stay positive.
According to a new rumor report from the website BirthMoviesDeath, the negative pile-on continues as there is alleged turmoil behind closed doors at Warner Bros. and DC Films.
Here's bullet points from their report:
- Director Zack Snyder and DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns were really caught off-guard from all the negativity with BATMAN V. SUPERMAN.
- Warner executives are now butting heads with Snyder and his vision for JUSTICE LEAGUE as well as his vision for the DC Extended Universe since Snyder has pretty much been running point for the development of the DCEU layout.
- There is tremendous pressure being put on Snyder from WB execs now that JUSTICE LEAGUE is filming in London and they could not replace him without fear of major backlash and box office fallout due to such a drastic change.
- WB losing THE FLASH director appears to be fallout from BvS negativity which instantly created tremendous pressure to succeed.
- AQUAMAN director James Wan is said to be nervous about this movie, which is expected from anyone who has to helm a blockbuster movie.
- The studio may move some of the movie release dates around, AQUAMAN was cited as a possible movie that gets shifted.
Regardless of any of this, there is still time to adapt and adjust the DCEU. Remember that Marvel Studios has its own struggles in Phase 1 while plotting their path to THE AVENGERS adapting throughout and making Phase 2 even stronger than Phase 1 was. Fans need to cross their fingers that Warner Bros. is indeed adapting because if they do not then things may not get any better. And bad movies in any genre is never a good thing for any genre.
Please understand that all of this is rumor that is being heard in various Hollywood circles and nothing is confirmed. Also, please note that the website being sourced for this report has been ultra-negative toward the DCEU even though they do have credible insider sources.
