SUICIDE SQUAD Director David Ayer Confirms Reshoots Are to Add More Action Not Humor

The rumor mill has been buzzing since it was confirmed that SUICIDE SQUAD was heading into three weeks of reshoots. While reshoots are common and planned in advance into the production schedule for big blockbuster movies, they usually only last about a week-ish... on average.

Which is why some were alarmed that SUICIDE SQUAD was reshooting for three weeks. The rumor mill sensed some potential fan panic and began churning out how the reshoots were due to the fallout from BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and its lack of fun and humor; so more fun and humor were being added during the three weeks. There was also been another rumor claiming more Batman is being added into the movie since audiences applauded Ben Affleck in the role in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN.

Actor Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang in the film, was the first to say that more action was being added and now director David Ayer has confirmed this, too, via his Twitter account.

So there you have it with Ayer's hashtag '#moreaction.' Confirmation from Ayer which seemingly debunks the movie's need to add more fun and funny. What wasn't addressed by Ayer is the possible addition of more Batman into SUICIDE SQUAD. Sure he probably wants to keep this is secret, if it is true.

Meanwhile, Affleck is already in Batman mode as JUSTICE LEAGUE is set to begin filming today, April 11. In theory, he could show up during these reshoots to add more Batman unless his stunt double is all that's needs and Affleck will just lend his voice where needed.

SUICIDE SQUAD releases on August 5.
