With Alex back to her less murderous self, they join Cat Grant and Maxwell Lord at the old broadcasting station for the plan; To broadcast a symbol and speech of hope to reach people under Myriad. The Supergirl symbol and her speech reaches the citizens of National City including Winn, James and the DEO agents. Needless to say, this pisses Non and Indigo off to explore a worst plan, destroy earth and take off.
Weirdly, after this whole event, National City seems to go back to the way it was. Perfect time for James to confront Kara about the kiss, but they're interrupted by Cat. Of course.
Meanwhile, at the DEO, it seems that Superman is still out for some reason. Hmmmm. And General Lane decides to come for a visit and secure J'onn J'onzz in handcuffs. Apparently anyone can just walk into the DEO now because Eliza comes to confront Alex about why she really came to see him. Alex tells her that Jeremiah is alive and they're going to find them. However, Maxwell interrupts the moment to give them the bad news of the day: Myriad's frequency is amplified to the part where it will start killing people.
Maxwell seems to be developing a strange concern for Supergirl, telling her that it is possible without Superman or J'onn J'onzz as her backup she could die in her battle with Non and Indigo. I smell something fishy. Knowing this, Kara goes between Winn , Cat, J'onn J'onzz and James to tell them how much she appreciates them in her life, including pushing James away.
Maxwell finally finds the source of Myriad and where Non and Indigo are is in the prison Fort Rozz in the desert. Even injured, J'onn J'onzz insists on coming with Supergirl to defeat Non and Indigo. The people of National City are beginning to feel the side effects of Myriad while the aliens fight. J'onn J'onzz literally tears Indigo in half while Supergirl fries Non's eyes killing him.
Kara realizes that the only way to stop Myriad is to fly Fort Roz of earth and that she won't be able to make it back. Alex, however, refused to give up on her sister and uses Kara's pod to save her and bring her home. J'onn J'onzz even gets a pardon and will work alongside Lucy as the head of DEO.
Kara's home life definitely shows improvement as Cat promotes her from just a assistant to a job when she decides to show her what she can offer. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought that Cat would reveal she knows that Kara is Supergirl. During a huge family dinner, James even brings her a present of a photo he took of her. Finally, they kiss (without James walking off like a zombie). Ah, Kara may actually get a boyfriend that lasts more than two episodes.
The shocking finale ending comes right in the middle of this happy touchy feely moment when the family sees something crashing out of the sky. Kara and J'onn J'onzz fly to go find what it is to reveal a pod that was identical to Kara's and being shocked when they open it to reveal... who knows. Yep. That's how they're ending the first season.
Who is in the pod? That is the question that needs to be answered when (if) the second season premieres. Could another Kryptonian have survived? Or did another alien somehow commandeer a Kryptonian pod? Hmm, time will tell. Maxwell Lord. This guy is super fishy. He’s all buddy buddy with Supergirl one moment and evil suspicious smiling with General Lane the next. He really needs to make up his mind. I was a little unimpressed by Non in the finale, I would’ve thought he would’ve been much harder to kill. The mystery surrounding Project Cadmus and Jeremiah Danvers does open up a lot of ideas for next season.
It's rumored that a renewal from CBS is coming, but until it's officially announced fingers are crossed that SUPERGIRL is coming back for Season 2.
