Writer and director Josh Boone has been sharing some of his progress on NEW MUTANTS, on his Instagram account, over the past year and he just shared that his second draft of the script was handed in as well as the tentative movie logo featured on the script's cover.
Last month producer Simon Kinberg teased NEW MUTANTS for first time and that was quickly followed by rumors of possible actors being targeted for team member roles which Fox denied within hours after the rumor hit the news wires.
All-in-all, it's logical to assume Fox is getting really close to confirming NEW MUTANTS will be green lit for full production and a release date could be set soon, too. As for which of Fox's many X-Men movie universe timelines NEW MUTANTS could exist in... there's a good chance it could take place in the modern timeline that was recently established in DEADPOOL.
