Perhaps you've been wondering if you'll see the quirkiness of The Collector, portrayed by actor Benecio Del Toro, in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. According to James Gunn, during a recent Q&A on his Facebook page, you will not see Taneleer Tivan a.k.a. The Collector.
Gunn also confirmed that actor John C. Reilly will not return to reprise his role as Nova Corpsman Dey either.
With GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, there is a scheduling conflict for Del Toro as he is currently at Pinewood Studios in London to film his undisclosed role for STAR WARS EPISODE VIII. So he's replacing one space role for another. That's fine, but hopefully The Collector will appear in either of the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR movies unless he's being saved for an assumed GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 movie in Marvel Studios' Phase 4 of films that starts in 2020.
