Fox is Still Holding Onto the Idea of Making Another FANTASTIC FOUR Movie

Many fans will agree that this post falls under the category of "WHY?!" as X-Men producer Simon Kinberg spoke with the website DenOfGeek about the future of Fox's FANTASTIC FOUR franchise.

"We didn't make a good movie.... I think we made many mistakes when we made that movie — mistakes that we learned from and we wouldn't repeat. We want to make another Fantastic Four movie. We love that cast. We'll try to be truer to the essence of Fantastic Four, which is largely distinct from the X-Men, which is brighter, funner, more optimistic in tone. I think we tried to make a darker Fantastic Four movie, which seemed like a radical idea but we were kind of messing with the DNA of the actual comic instead of trusting the DNA of the comic.”

Saying there's a want to make another FANTASTIC FOUR movie and actually making one are two completely different things. Fox lost a reported $60 million on what was one of 2015's biggest flops. Although, DEADPOOL having such a tiny budget ($58M) and making $762 million worldwide definitely helped make up for all those loses FANTASTIC FOUR incurred and it could be the reason Fox is still thinking sequel.

The real question is if any of the core FANTASTIC FOUR cast wants to come back for a sequel after all the behind-the-scenes reports of issues during production and filming. Sure they are probably signed on for sequels but the experience of making the last movie might have left such a bad impression on cast members that a total reboot (again) might be needed instead. And does any Marvel fan really want to see Fox attempt yet another reboot of Marvel's first family after the last one was such a bad movie?

Most fans think it's in Fox's best interest to either sell or give or exchange the rights to the FANTASTIC FOUR back to Marvel Studios and Disney.
