Producer Confirms Charles Xavier is in Current NEW MUTANTS Script and Filming Could Start in Early 2017

Recently there's been some news and rumors surrounding writer/director Josh Boone's in-development NEW MUTANTS X-Men spin-off movie. Teases from the mutant team's roster to possible appearances by other X-Men have littered the Internet over the past few weeks.

Now, in an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed NEW MUTANTS has Professor Charles Xavier in its current version of its script. Kinberg also expressed his hope that the movie could start filming as soon as early 2017.

Fox still has yet to confirm any official green light of NEW MUTANTS and they have not set a release date for the movie. However, the studio does have dates set for untitled Marvel movies on October 6, 2017, January 12, 2018 and July 13, 2018.

Just speculating here and if NEW MUTANTS starts filming in early 2017 then it's probably being projected for one of the two release dates in 2018.
