LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- As soon as the doors opened to E3 2016 there was a mad dash by the masses within the confines of the industry-only expo to each person's desired location. I decided to run for Ubisoft due to my desire to hopefully play the new SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUTWHOLE video game.
I waited nearly two hours in this line and to say it was a tedious wait is me being nice because it was quite painful to stand there for such a long time. Once inside the South Park booth I was met with an amazing display of Coon and Friends "props and artifacts" set up in a museum-like arrangement.
Unfortuntaley, there was no gameplay to partake in just some videos shown teasing the game that was not seen in its latest trailer. Some of the things shown was a brief glimpse of your character's origin story as well as the new fighting system that is turn-based, grid oriented. For me, that is a definite upgrade from the fighting system in its predecessor game, SOUTH PARK: THE STICK OF TRUTH, but it was not playable so I cannot tell you exactly how good (or bad) it might actually be.
All that waiting for no gameplay was a huge letdown and according to an Ubisoft rep it was due to people needing to "take a break."
So there wasn't others who could have covered the break? Sounds fishy to me and the fact there was no freebie was a shocker because part of the reason you wait in E3 lines is to not only play a game but to get some kind of fun free item, too. Shame on you Ubisoft!
Anyway, the museum "props and artifacts" were really cool to see and here's everything that was on display inside of the booth.
