Is X-MEN: APOCALYPSE a box office failure? No.
In it's third weekend of domestic release, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE really dropped off in the box office bringing in an estimated $10 million. This brings its domestic total to approximately $136M. At this number, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has moved ahead of the unadjusted domestic total of THE WOLVERINE ($132M) but this means it's Fox's second worst total stateside for their mutant franchise.
Overseas, however, the movie is doing much better and it is the big reason why this film is not a box office disappointment. It has brought in the third highest International box office total for any Fox X-Men franchise, so far, behind only X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST ($513M) and DEADPOOL ($408M). X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has now brought in over $342M.
Worldwide, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has made $478M, which puts it in third place on Fox's list of X-Men franchise films behind DEADPOOL ($771M) and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST ($747M).
