Images from San Diego locals emerge around this time every year as the city begins its prep work for San Diego Comic-Con International. From giant-size posters plastered on the sides of hotels to smaller banners throughout the Gaslamp District, the marketing for SDCC is like no other seen for any of convention or expo.
Today we get a first look at Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE banners that are going up around the convention center.
As of the publishing of this post, there is still no word on if Marvel Studios will be attending SDCC after skipping out last summer. But GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 writer and director Jame Gunn kinda-sorta teased he might be coming next month (see post link below). And with DOCTOR STRANGE releasing on November 4 there should be a big presence for Marvel's new, magical big screen hero.
UPDATE: Director Scott Derrickson has provided a strong hint that there will be a Marvel Studios presence at SDCC... followed by a retort by GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 director James Gunn...
Will I be at Comic Con this year? Here's a hint... pic.twitter.com/ovawpnsLsj— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) June 10, 2016
Really? You’ll be so close. I might have to come see you. https://t.co/LbqvjJ46Vg— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) June 10, 2016
Yeah... this sounds like Marvel Studios will be there.
SDCC 2016 begins with its Preview Night on July 20 through July 24 and The Daily SuperHero will be there covering as much as humanly possible. So yes... you can live vicariously through us if you aren't going.
