***This post contains possible SPOILERS for THOR: RAGNAROK.***
It's been a while since rumors about Marvel's 'Planet Hulk' story arc coming into the Marvel Cinematic Universe have hit the web. At this point it seems like until Marvel Studios actually uses the fan-favorite comic book story, the rumors will never go away. When it was initially announced that Hulk would be appearing in THOR: RAGNAROK the rumor mill was quick to produce a headline claiming 'Planet Hulk' might be incorporated into the film. Several months have passed since then and the rumor is back... again.
This time the rumor is coming from the website JoBlo, who reports the following rumor:
"Since our initial report of Ruffalo appearing as Hulk in the film we’ve heard rumors of how the story will play out and just how 'Planet Hulk' the film will be. Well, here’s what we know: The film will definitely have the Planet Hulk element in it, operating as a kind of mash-up with the Ragnarok story. How Thor ends up on the planet in question is unclear, but he will definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games run by none other than Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. In terms of Hulk’s appearance in this portion of the film, he will be rocking the one-shoulder armor as seen in the comics, so expect him to be decked out in the familiar Planet Hulk look."
The site goes on to say that Thor will sport a new look with part of his head shaved; a quick guess is to say probably just on the sides. And for newcomer Tessa Thompson, who will be Marvel's newest badass female Valkyrie, her appearance will be different from the comics and she will have war paint on her face.
Finally, this rumor claims that THOR: RAGNAROK will have its plot centered on Thor looking for "the ultimate weapon" to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe.
None of this is confirmed so please take it all as rumor as of right now.
THOR: RAGNAROK begins filming in Australia this summer and releases on November 3, 2017.
