What a shocking change this late in the post-production cycle of ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY as composer Alexandre Desplat (THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL) will no longer be composing the musical score for the first standalone Star Wars film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Desplat is now out and Michael Giacchino is in. Although this isn't due to anything more than a schedule conflict as Desplat could no longer fit ROGUE ONE into his schedule after the movie went into reshoots recently.
Hot off his work on the score for the upcoming Disney-owned Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE steps in Giacchino. A favorite of Disney and moviegoers, Giacchino has worked on many of Disney's films including THE INCREDIBLES, ZOOTOPIA as well as many, many others.
ROGUE ONE releases on December 16.
