Last week it was revealed that Tim Miller left the director's chair for DEADPOOL 2 due to "creative differences" with actor Ryan Reynolds. Then, a follow-up report hit claiming the rift went deeper with Miller wanting a much bigger budget to make a more stylized blockbuster movie than the original while Reynolds and the screenwriters wanted to keep it cheaper like the first film. (To read more about this, see post links below.)
Now, the website Mashable is reporting 20th Century Fox and Reynolds are eyeing JOHN WICK director David Leitch to fill Miller's shoes and direct DEADPOOL 2. Leitch has worked on many action films including: BLADE, DAREDEVIL (the movie), X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE and the MATRIX films in various roles coordinating stunts and action sequences for these films and many others.
In other words, Leitch is very familiar with the hyper-action it takes to make DEADPOOL 2 as much of a success as its predecessor. Then Reynolds and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will most definitely be taking care of all the raunchy humor in the sequel.
Leitch is just the first of what is assumed to be several names that will be in contention for DEADPOOL 2, so stay tuned.
