Fox is adding more super hero TV programming. Already having GOTHAM in its third season, Fox is bringing a live action Marvel X-Men series to its network and has green lit a pilot episode. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series' pilot episode will be directed by X-Men movie alum Bryan Singer.
The new series, which is currently untitled, will be based within the X-Men cinematic universe — unlike FX's LEGION X-Men spin-off series which will not (for now). THR has the following synopsis for the new series:
"...the action-adventure drama focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive."
This untitled X-Men series is created and the pilot will be written by Matt Nix (BURN NOTICE), who will serve as showrunner and is a die-hard fan of Marvel's mutant team.
