This is the first year Marvel Studios is releasing three movies starting with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 to kick off the summer movie season, followed by SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING near the July 4 holiday and finally THOR: RAGNAROK in November.
While things ramp up for the release of the Guardians sequel, a little tease about THOR: RAGNAROK was made by studio head Kevin Feige during a Guardians set visit by the website Collider. Feige teased the worlds of Ragnarok going "beyond the Nine Realms."
“The upcoming movies will be as much out here as they are on Earth, starting with Thor: Ragnarok. There are three scenes on Earth in Thor: Ragnarok. Everything else is Asgard and not any of these worlds [in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2], but worlds that certainly – let’s put it this way, in Thor lingo, it’s beyond the nine realms. There are other planets that we spend a lot of time on in Thor: Ragnarok that certainly people would say, ‘Oh, that’s sort of like a Guardians world.’ But they’re just other areas of the Marvel Cosmic Universe.”
Seeing as how there will be heavy influence taken from the 'Planet Hulk' comic book story line, it seems obvious Thor and Hulk will be seen on the planet of Sakaar, as in the comics. Beyond that it is anyone's guess; although Hel should make an appearance revealing another of the Nine Realms since that's where Cate Blanchett's Hela resides.
THOR: RAGNAROK releases in the U.S. on November 3.
