Excited for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 yet? You should be, yet here we are already talking about GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 before the second movie has even been released. There's that much excitement surrounding the franchise where Marvel Studios is allowing writer and director James Gunn to already hint at the third movie.
Gunn has confirmed he will write and direct the third and final movie in his trilogy story arc. As well as confirming Adam Warlock will play a big role in the third film.
And he told Variety, while on the red carpet for the sequel's premiere, the third movie will close out the story for this iteration of the team. Watch him talk about it below.

"I think really that the three movies work together as a whole, they’re going to tell one story. This is the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and we’re going to get to know the characters even better in the same way we got to know them much better in this film than the first one. I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t have a fairly clear idea of where we were going and what we were going to do. I’m not a guy that’s just going to do it if I don’t have a vision for it. So, I’m very excited."
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 releases in the U.S. on May 5.
