NEW MUTANTS is coming in spring 2018 and it begins filming in the coming weeks; so it makes sense The Hollywood Reporter has news on two of the first official mutant castings.
As previous rumored for what seems like a year (or more), GAME OF THRONES actress Maisie Williams will be Wolfsbane, who has the power to turn into a wolf. Also cast in the role of the Magik, who is the sibling of the X-Men team member Colossus, is Anya Taylor-Joy (SPLIT). Magik has magic manipulation powers as well as teleportation.
According to THR:
"The pic will focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock."
Actor James McAvoy has been rumored to be reprising his role as Charles Xavier, but this is still unconfirmed at the time this post was published.
NEW MUTANTS releases in the U.S. on April 13, 2018.
