The Hollywood Reporter is usually one of the most solid news outlets when it comes to reporting on castings and scoops in the movie business. However, nobody is perfect and if you're wrong you should really admit it to maintain credibility.
We are pointing our figurative finger at THR right now who reported last week that WONDER WOMAN director Patty Jenkins was already contractually committed to the sequel. See the highlighted part in this screenshot from THR's article.
But today THR is reporting how Jenkins is not signed on but she will enter negotiations with Warner Bros. to helm WONDER WOMAN 2 very soon.
The real problem here isn't that Jenkins may want a pay increase after the success of WONDER WOMAN — she deserves it — this is an issue of THR not acknowledging their error in a previous article from just a few days ago. The media is getting a ton of crap online due to inaccuracies and fake news and this doesn't help. If you're wrong, admit it, say you're sorry then move on. But to ignore it is ignorant. Shame on you THR.
Regardless, let's hope Jenkins is back for WONDER WOMAN 2. Fingers crossed.
