WONDER WOMAN Continues to Dominate With Historically Low Second Weekend Box Office Drop-Off For the Superhero Genre

WONDER WOMAN continues to dominate the box office in its second weekend with a reported historically low drop-off of only 45-percent. For the superhero movie genre, the average second weekend drop is anywhere in the 50- to 60-percent range. She absolutely kicked the crap out of fellow DC Extended Universe movies and their second weekend drop-offs:
  1. BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE tumbled 69-percent.
  2. SUICIDE SQUAD dropped 67-percent.
  3. MAN OF STEEL fell 65-percent.
Solid word-of-mouth buzz is most definitely a driving force for WONDER WOMAN as she topped the domestic weekend box office with an estimated $57 million. This brings her domestic take to $205 million, total.

Overseas, Diana of Themyscira did an additional $58 million bringing her worldwide box office gross to an estimated $435 million.

WONDER WOMAN will continue her box office dominance until SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING webs his way into theaters on July7.
