SDCC 2017: The Kree / Skrull War is Coming to the MCU in CAPTAIN MARVEL

San Diego, Cali. -- Comic-Con 2017 is now over but there will be lots of information coming out this week from the yearly event since there is that much info that happens during SDCC.

IGN has provided a little more info about CAPTAIN MARVEL as Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige officially confirmed the movie will adapt the comic book story arc involving the Kree / Skrull war in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"There’s an entire section of our comics that deal with the Kree / Skrull War and we haven’t tapped into that at all. And we thought that would be an amazing, huge portion of mythology to belong to Captain Marvel."

So far we know that actress Brie Larson is in the title role as Carol Danvers, the movie will take place in the 90s before the events of IRON MAN, Nick Fury will return with both of his eyes (since this film is a prequel in the MCU timeline) and the alien race the Skrulls will be the main villains. Plus, here's a look at movie concept art.

CAPTAIN MARVEL begins filming in early 2018 and releases on March 8, 2019.
