SDCC 2017: Recapping Everything DC Superhero Related From the Warner Bros. Panel

San Diego, Cali -- Warner Bros. and the DCEU put on a show at their San Diego Comic-Con presentation. Entering the convention, there were a ton rumors and unanswered questions about the future of the DC Extended Universe.

Does Ben Affleck really want out?

Which movies are next?

What the hell is going on with THE FLASH

Most of our questions, and more, were answered. DC has been riding high since the unprecedented success of WONDER WOMAN, their first real hit in their superhero cinematic universe.

The stars of JUSTICE LEAGUE took the stage with Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Erza Miller and Ray Fisher. It was really cool seeing them all on stage, although I would have liked to see Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Most importantly, Ben Affleck made it seem like he is staying as Batman and is really excited to be a part of Matt Reeves' solo Batman film. This is good news, hopefully he really is sincere and plans to stick around for a long time.

The biggest moment was the JUSTICE LEAGUE trailer reveal. The trailer looks great and shows a lot more than I expected, giving a much better look at the actual story and tone of the film. This movie needs to be great and while this trailer isn’t perfect, it looks like JUSTICE LEAGUE is heading in the right direction. Comic book movie God Joss Whedon recently took over the reshoots for the movie and fans have been wondering how extensive they have been and how much Whedon is actually changing. Fisher said the reshoots just finished up and praised Whedon as a good choice to finish the film.

Gadot also confirmed Superman will be in the film (duh) and from the looks of the trailer, they really need his help, “No Kryptonian, No Lanterns” is a great line from the trailer. It’s definitely the right move saving the full Superman reveal for the movie.

Another big DC reveal was THE FLASH movie will be based on the popular 'Flashpoint' storyline. This could be great, if done right, but it's unclear how close the adaptation will be. It’s possible this will be a very loose version and it is encouraging to see they at least have some sort of plan for this movie.

Last but definitely not least, AQUAMAN footage was shown and Momoa came out to rock music on the stage. You can tell this guy loves being Aquaman. He is very confident and it is really cool how pumped up he is to play Arthur Curry and make him really, really badass. The footage apparently looked really fun, hopefully director James Wan has a hit on his hands with this one.

The future of the DCEU looks surprisingly bright, after a few early misfires, and we might be back on track here. It’s a great time to be a superhero fan, lets enjoy this new Golden Age.
