WONDER WOMAN 2 Reportedly to Take Place in the 1980s Cold War Era

WONDER WOMAN has been a tremendous critical and box office success proving the superhero genre can support a powerful leading lady in the title role despite the failures of past female superhero films like CATWOMAN and ELECTRA. And with big success comes sequels.

Right now WONDER WOMAN 2 is currently being planned and is in development with DC Films head Geoff Johns working on its story / script with director Patty Jenkins. Jenkins may not be officially signed on to helm the sequel, yet, but the writing is on the wall since she is working with Johns. She is said to be in talks to return for the sequel.

The first film took place during World War I and now, according to TheWrap, WONDER WOMAN 2 will reportedly take place in the 1980s during the Cold War era. ScreenRant first reported this information.
