Bullet Points of New Info About THOR: RAGNAROK

Set visits reports from news outlets and websites who went to Australia to the set of THOR: RAGNAROK has hit the web and here's our quick bullet points of the most important information learned. Please note that if you do not want to know more details about THOR: RAGNAROK then you should probably turn away now, so here's your spoiler alert warning.

  • The movie is set about two years after the events of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and occurs concurrently around the same time of the events in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.
  • Thor has been on his own cosmic adventure, since fans last saw him in Age of Ultron, as he is trying to find out who is searching for the Infinity Stones.
  • Thor will be funny in a cynical way throughout, which is a big change for the character's development, and the reason Marvel Studios wanted director Taika Waititi at the helm.
  • The movie opens with Thor captured in Muspelheim by the fire demon Surtur.
  • When Thor returns to Asgard he finds Loki on the throne and the realm in a state of disarray which is why it is open for attack by Hela, the Goddess of Death.
  • We will see what is considered "the slums" of Asgard compared to all the beauty and glamor of what has been seen on the realm in the past two Thor films; Hela preys upon those living in these slums.
  • There will be some planet hopping in the film as well as a quick visit to Earth by Thor and Loki to see Doctor Strange, who helps them locate Odin.
  • The planet of Sakaar is one that is frozen in time and is the final destination of many of wormholes; run by The Grandmaster, it is a planet of rejects and lost souls, as well as gladiator matches that has become the basis of the society he has built there.
  • The Grandmaster is an elusive figures who is part circus Ringmaster, part dictator.
  • Hulk lands on Sakaar through one of these wormholes that appeared when we last saw him flying away in a Quinjet after the events of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
  • Hulk has been in Hulk-form for nearly two years and is The Grandmaster's gladiator champion, who has lots of fans on Sakaar.
  • We will learn how not changing back to Bruce Banner for that extended period of time will affect them both.
  • Being Hulk for so long is a big part of the reason he is now able to talk, as seen at the end of the recent trailer.
  • Hela's headdress is CG so actress Cate Blanchett didn't have to be uncomfortable wearing such a massive head piece which could have negatively affected her performance.
  • The Warriors Three will appear.
  • We will learn what happened in the break-up between Thor and Jane Foster.

THOR: RAGNAROK releases on November 3.
