Bullets Points of New Info About Marvel's BLACK PANTHER, Plus New Images and Concept Art


Set visits reports from news outlets and websites who visited to the set of BLACK PANTHER last February have hit the web and here's our quick bullet points of the most important information learned. Please note that if you do not want to know more details about BLACK PANTHER, then you should probably turn away now, so there's your spoiler alert warning.

  • The film will pick up right after the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR with T'Challa still dealing with his father T'Chaka's death. 
  • Due to the death of King T'Chaka, Wakanda is no longer in balance as the throne is now being threatened by those who want it. This is a driving plot point in the film.
  • T'Challa is learning be his nation's new King, as well as trying to be a super hero after he revealed himself to the world in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.
  • Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore has described this film as part James Bond movie, part GODFATHER.
  • Moore compared the tone of BLACK PANTHER to the tone of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.
  • The Royal protectors, the Dora Milaje, will have a major role in the film.
  • Shuri, T'Challa's younger sister, is said to be the smartest person in the world, even smarter than Tony Stark, and she acts as T'Challa's version of 'Q' in James Bond movies creating new tech for T'Challa as well as his latest Black Panther suit.
  • Comic book mythology will be in place for things like Wakanda's heart-shaped herb, the Panther Gods, as well as delving into their advanced technology and use of the rare metal Vibranium.
  • The film will explore both the public face of Wakanda and what it hides behind the scenes from the world.
  • Actor Michael B. Jordan, who plays the villain Erik Killmonger, says his character is more of a "revolutionary" than an actual villain and fans may find themselves siding with his intentions.
  • Lupita Nyong’o's Nakia is more or less a Wakandan spy who reports back to her country on world affairs to keep her nation as safe as possible.
  • Andy Serkis returns as Ulysses Klaue, aka Klaw, who is sort of a lone villain who has no allegiance to anyone but his own wants and needs. He will partner up with others if it suits his own cause.
  • Klaw is extremely knowledgable about Wakanda and is considered the only outsider to get in and out of the nation; he is also a big fan of tech and weapons.
  • Except to see some very unique vehicles due to Wakanda's advanced tech.
  • Multiple tribes make up Wakanda and fans will see several of them in the movie.
