AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Becomes 8th Film to Gross Over $600 Million Domestically; Closing in on $2 Billion Worldwide
Box Office Report: Even though it has not finished at No. 1 in the weekend standings for the last couple of weeks, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is still going strong in the box office.
Domestically, Infinity War achieved yet another rare feat as it became only the eighth movie to breach the $600 million barrier in box office gross. Currently, the sequel has $625 million and it joins the following films in the $600 Million Club: STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS ($936M), AVATAR ($760M), BLACK PANTHER ($698M), TITANIC ($659M), JURASSIC WORLD ($652M), THE AVENGERS ($623M), and STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI ($620M).
Overseas, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR has made over $1.28 billion. China has helped tremendously in this number as Infinity War has made $336 million in the world's second largest movie market making it the third highest grossing import film of all-time there.
Worldwide, Infinity War is inching ever so close to the $2 Billion Club as it currently has brought in $1.9 billion.
It's going to be a close race to the $2 billion finish line as the summer movie season gets more crowded with INCREDIBLES 2, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, and ANT-MAN AND THE WASP all opening within the next six weeks. There is definitely a chance, though.
