Standalone JOKER Movie Begins Filming With First Look at Joaquin Phoenix

Actor Joaquin Phoenix is starring in the title role of director Todd Phillips' JOKER standalone movie, as Arthur. The film is an origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime that is not a part of the DC Extended Universe.

Filming started today in New York City and fans have both the first look at Phoenix, via Phillips' Instagram account, as well as on-set photos courtesy of JustJared (click the link in their Twitter embed below).
